Vyshyvanka Day at the ER INAS: The Tradition Is Alive!

The Institute of Natural and Agrarian Sciences actively participated in events marking Vyshyvanka Day.

“Without the past, there is no future. Without vyshyvanka, there is no face of the nation.”, — Lina Kostenko wisely noted. Because Vyshyvanka is Ukrainian identity, a connection with ancestors, a source of inspiration and a symbol of invincibility.

In order to create a common space where Ukrainian traditions live, demonstrating unity of spirit and deep respect for the cultural heritage of our state, the student and teaching staff traditionally held a number of events on this occasion. Namely: they supported the flash mob “Vyshyvanka unites”, created a video presentation “Patterns of the native people – the code of the nation in every stitch”, decorated the classrooms and the directorate’s office in the style of Ukrainian embroidery, actively participated in photo competitions in vyshyvanka in various nominations: “Save for posterity”, “Colors intertwined in a rainbow”, “I am a Ukrainian, I am a Ukrainian”, “Connected by an embroidered fate”, “My home in vyshyvanka”.

The towels and embroidered items carefully collected by teachers, students, and staff turned the institute into a real museum of living tradition on this day: various ornaments, patterns, symbols — each carries its own history, its own meaning. Vyshyvanka is something in which we are equal, regardless of profession, age, or status. It unites entire generations.

On this symbolic day, the staff of the Institute of Natural and Agrarian Sciences proudly joined the city-wide events that took place in the city of Myrhorod. We took an active part in the exhibition-fair, where we presented works with unique elements of Ukrainian embroidery, and visited a festive concert to honor Ukrainian roots, traditions, and invincible spirit together with the entire community.

With Vyshyvanka, sincere smiles and open hearts, we became a part of a large festive canvas that always reminds us — our strength is in unity, our identity — in the embroidered code of the nation.

We believe that modern education, multiplied by national identity, is a powerful force capable of shaping the bright future of Ukraine.

May the Vyshyvanka always be a symbol of peace, love and pride for our state!
