Participation in the Interdisciplinary Event

On Europe Day: students majoring in “Political Science”, “Sociology”, “International Relations”, and “Secondary Education (History and Civics)” joined the discussion of the values of European unity – they took part in an interdisciplinary event.

On May 9, as part of the celebration of Europe Day in Ukraine, students majoring in the humanities took part in the interdisciplinary event “Together into the Future: Ukraine and Europe”. The participants were students of the educational programs “Political Science”, “Sociology”, “International Relations” and “Secondary Education (History and Civics)”.

The event was aimed at updating European values in the context of the transformational challenges faced by modern Ukraine, which is fighting for its place in the common European home. The students discussed the political, social and legal dimensions of Ukraine’s European integration, the role of civil society in strengthening democracy, as well as cultural heritage as a common basis for European identity.

The event program was opened by a welcoming speech by A.V. Bader, who emphasized: “European values are not only about politics or economics. They are about dignity, freedom, solidarity, and choosing the future. And it is educators and higher education students who should consciously shape this choice.”

The event included:

  • a panel discussion “The European Vector of Ukraine: Prospects for Youth”;
  • a presentation of student mini-studies on European integration policies;
  • a visual exhibition of posters “Ukraine is the Heart of Europe”;
  • an interactive quiz on knowledge of the history of the European Union.

The participants were able to formulate their own vision of what it means to be a European in the conditions of war and the struggle for freedom.

The event confirmed the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to the formation of European consciousness and became a platform for dialogue between youth, scientists and community representatives on the future of Ukraine in Europe.
