80 Years of Victory over Nazism in Europe

May 8, 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazism in Europe, and marks the Day of Remembrance and Victory in the Second World War of 1939-1945.

For students of the Brianka Professional College of LTSNU, an educational hour “Memory is Forever Alive” was held, which began with a story about the events of World War II, in particular, about the contribution of the Ukrainian people to the victory over Nazism.

World War II was the bloodiest and most brutal in the history of mankind. 80% of the planet’s population took part in it, and from 50 to 85 million people died. No country can claim to have its own exceptional role in the victory over Nazism recognized. Victory is the fruit of the titanic efforts of dozens of states and hundreds of peoples.

During the event, important issues were discussed with students regarding the destruction of Russian narratives about the “monopoly on victory”, the promotion of truthful information about the role of the Ukrainian people in the victory over Nazism and their current struggle against the Russian aggressor.

A minute of silence was observed in memory of all those who fought against Nazism, fallen soldiers and victims of World War II. As part of the event, college students and teachers, together with representatives of local authorities, took part in laying flowers.
