Discussion of Ukraine’s Image

Students majoring in “Secondary Education (History and Civics)” joined the international scientific discussion of Ukraine’s image.

On May 3, 2025, first-year students majoring in “Secondary Education (History and Civic Education)”, within the course “History of Ukraine”, joined the International Scientific and Practical Conference “International and Intercultural Communication in the Formation of the Image of Ukraine: Development Strategies”. The conference, which was held at the National University of Life Resources and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, brought together more than 300 participants from different parts of Ukraine and eight foreign countries.

The co-organizers included the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among the participants of the conference were scientists, educators, students, representatives of government and public institutions, which indicates a high scientific and public interest in the issues of forming the image of Ukraine in the conditions of war and globalization.

It is important to note that the assistant of the Department of History and Archaeology Yevheniia Shevtsova  also took part in the conference, who accompanied the students and supported their involvement in the scientific environment. The students had the opportunity to join the discussion panels, listen to the speeches of leading diplomats, scientists and public figures, in particular the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine Volodymyr Ohryzko, the Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine Hennadii Nadolenko, and the People’s Deputy Ivan Zayts.

The conference had a profound educational and upbringing effect. The issues of forming a positive image of Ukraine were considered through the prism of historical heritage, national traditions, international communication, information security, civic identity and state policy. Such scientific events are an integral part of the modern educational process, because it is participation in conferences that allows students to better master academic disciplines, critically reflect on the content of courses, in particular “History of Ukraine”, and deepen their understanding of current socio-political processes. This is not only a platform for professional growth, but also a real way to form an active civic position of future history teachers and scientists.

We are grateful to the organizers of the conference for the opportunity to join the professional conversation at the international level and are proud that representatives of our university are part of the scientific discourse that shapes the world’s perception of Ukraine.
