Veteran Football Tournament in Honor of the Fallen Hero Viktor Pertsuk

On May 3, a special veteran football tournament was held in the city of Poltava, dedicated to the bright memory of the fallen soldier — Viktor Pertsuk.

The event brought together six teams from different regions, united around an important goal – to honor the feat of the Hero who died in battle near the city of Rubizhne, Luhansk region.

The football field that day became not just a place of sports rivalry, but a symbol of unity, gratitude and memory. The tournament was held in a sincere, touching atmosphere, where each participant – regardless of the result – paid tribute to the courage and indomitability of the Ukrainian defenders.

Particularly pleasant news for our university community was the participation in the tournament of Roman Pavlov – a teacher at the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports of the Educational and Research Institute of Health Care and Sports of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. As part of the Dynamo team, Roman Hennadiiovych, together with his partners, won an honorable second place, demonstrating high skill, endurance and true team spirit.

The winners of the competition were the Poltava team, which included Viktor Pertsuk’s brother. His presence on the field gave a special meaning to every moment of the game, and the team’s victory itself became deeply symbolic and emotionally rich.

We express our sincere gratitude to the organizers, participants and everyone who joined in holding this important tournament. Sport is not only a competition, but also a powerful tool of civic unity that helps preserve the memory of the Heroes of Ukraine, forms an indomitable spirit and maintains a living bond between generations.

Heroes do not die – their memory lives in our hearts, in deeds, in the game, which does not forget for whom we live free.
