Active Participation in Scientific Events

Research and teaching staff, students and postgraduate students of the Department of Political Science and International Relations have been regularly taking an active part in scientific conferences of various levels, round tables, Olympiads and other scientific events for many years.

The student scientific society “Ambassadors of the Future” was created on the basis of the department. The main goal of the SST “Ambassadors of the Future” is to unite students and postgraduates of the department to organize student research activities, analytical work, promote the quality of scientific and practical training of students, expand their general and professional outlook, and satisfy their scientific interests in the field of international relations. In addition, members of the student scientific society share and disseminate information about various scientific events not only at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, but also on various platforms throughout Ukraine and beyond. The head of the student scientific society “Ambassadors of the Future” was a third-year student majoring in “International Relations” Maria Grekova. The scientific supervisor of the SST “Ambassadors of the Future” is Olena Volodymyrivna Mezhenska, candidate of political sciences, associate professor of the Department of Political Science and International Relations.

Opening the work of the student scientific society, Olena Volodymyrivna noted that in modern conditions, diplomacy and its forms have been significantly influenced by the dynamic change in the nature of international relations, which prompts a quick and adequate response to what is happening. Of particular importance is the training of practitioners who possess the modern level of necessary knowledge and skills, who would be able to effectively protect the interests of the Ukrainian state, and, by and large, the entire society abroad.

The student scientific society is the basis for the professional training of students, where an intellectual approach to scientific and independent work is formed, creative abilities, skills and abilities based on subjective views are generated. The scientific work that participants are engaged in within the framework of the activities of the student scientific society allows them to gain experience in systematizing thoughts, consistently presenting, analyzing and summarizing the results of research and provides an opportunity to become more familiar with the theoretical and practical aspects of educational components.

During the discussion, the students came to the conclusion that in the modern world, in the context of its increasing globalization, the importance of diplomacy is undoubtedly growing. This is due to the fact that forceful solutions to international problems, despite the intensification of their use recently, are becoming more and more dangerous. In addition, the restructuring of international relations associated with the processes of globalization, the entry of non-state actors into the world arena, poses the task of diplomacy to actively engage in the process of creating a new world order. Therefore, we can say that it is diplomats in our time of globalization transformations who should become direct managers of the aforementioned processes.

We note with great pleasure that participation in such an event has become for our students not only an excellent opportunity to expand their knowledge and share their own ideas, but also an important part of the group’s scientific activities, which contributes to professional development.

The meeting was held in a relaxed, friendly and extremely conducive atmosphere for discussion. The students expressed creative ideas regarding the prospects for the development of the scientific community, the desire to expand their scientific horizons and erudition, and to familiarize themselves with the methodology of research work.

The Student Scientific Society “Ambassadors of the Future” invites applicants for education, teachers, researchers and all interested parties to join the following events.
