Meeting with the People’s Deputy of Ukraine

A meeting with the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleksii Honcharenko was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. 

The morning of April 29, 2025 at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University began with a special event – a meeting of student youth and the university staff with the Ukrainian political and public figure, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleksii HONCHARENKO.

The guest of honor was introduced by the rector of the university Olena KARAMAN, who noted that such meetings are not only a source of inspiration, but also an opportunity for young people to ask important questions, hear lively thoughts, and communicate with those who create the present of Ukraine.

Oleksii Honcharenko is the head of the parliamentary committee on migration and refugees, a volunteer, and the initiator of a powerful educational project – the “Honcharenko Center” network. During the meeting, he spoke about the philosophy of creating these centers, their mission as centers of education, culture, and volunteer interaction. The guest noted that one of the newest and already 40th centers was the recently opened “Honcharenko Center” in Lubny. He invited university students to visit the center, participate in educational programs, trainings, and volunteer initiatives.

In addition, another guest of honor came to the meeting — the chief military expert of the National Medical Chamber of Ukraine, the head of the union of veterans of the ATO and law enforcement agencies of Ukraine “Shield of the Fatherland”, a combat officer, Knight of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, Colonel Viacheslav VASILIEV. He presented Oleksii Honcharenko with the People’s Honor Order — the Order “For Valor and Victory” — in recognition of his active volunteer activities, assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and patriotic position.

After the speech, Oleksii Honcharenko spoke with the participants of the meeting in a question and answer format, giving comprehensive comments on topical topics of youth, employees of the institution, the development of education, protection of the rights of internally displaced persons and the future of the state.

At the end of the meeting, rector Olena Karaman presented Oleksii Honcharenko with the monograph “Armed Violence, National Security and Critical Thinking” edited by the head of the Academic Council of the university, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Vitalii Kurylo. The guest was also presented with the symbol of the university as a sign of gratitude for supporting educational initiatives and for his concern for the fate of the younger generation.

Then, rector of LTSNU Olena KARAMAN, together with the head of the Primary Trade Union Organization of LTSNU Volodymyr MOROZ, thanked the guest for opening the educational center in Lubny, sincere communication and attention to the student body. The meeting ended with a joint commemorative photo, which captured not just the visit, but a moment of unity with those who build Ukraine every day.
