Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University held an educational hour dedicated to National Vyshyvanka Day.
National Vyshyvanka Day is a new national holiday, which aims to promote unity and cultural revival of the multinational Ukrainian people.
The organizers of this educational hour were Vice-Director of the Institute of History, International Relations and Social and Political Sciences on social and humanitarian work Anton Bader and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communication on social and humanitarian work – Nadia Karlova.
The Dean of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communication Tetyana Pinchuk and students of the Institute of History, International Relations and Social and Political Sciences, the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communication and the Faculty of Foreign Languages attended the event.
The participants had the opportunity to learn more about the history of embroidery art in the world and in Ukraine, the uniqueness and originality of embroidery in different regions of our country, watch video clips about the Ukrainian shirt.
The inexhaustible treasury of spiritual culture of our people will continue to develop extremely important part of it – embroidery, because it is connected with all centuries-old history of the Ukrainian people, its creative pursuits, joy and sorrow, its victories and defeats, hopes for the future. Because the embroidery is a spiritual symbol of the Ukrainian people, the native land, the family home, heat mother’s arms.
