Meeting with Schoolchildren and Teachers of Kozel District
22.4.2025
Teachers of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism of LTSNU are establishing cooperation with teachers of the Kozel district.
On 17 April 2025, with the assistance of Oleh Kabachenko, Head of the Department of Education, Family, Youth and Sports of the Executive Committee of the Kozelshchyna Village Council, and Hanna Batyr, Chief Specialist of the Department, an interested conversation took place about the prospects for cooperation between the university and the village teachers. The proposed agreement between the Department of Ukrainian Language of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism and the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of Kozelka, which is scheduled to be signed in the near future, will provide for industrial and pedagogical practices at the lyceums of Kozelka, exchange of work experience, celebration of holidays, etc.
A meeting with eleventh-graders of Kozelshchyna, Breusivka and Pryharivka lyceums of the Kozelshchyna Settlement Council in Poltava Oblast proved that the graduates are committed to thoroughly studying and mastering the Ukrainian language, as this will help them to realise their abilities in Ukraine, and to learning foreign languages to help them enter the European space.
In the village of Kozelshchyna, the Smart Space public cultural and educational centre, founded and patronised by Kozelshchyna resident Mykola Sushko, is successfully operating. The centre was created on the basis of the Oles Honchar District Library. The project was implemented by the Smart Foundation charity in 2020 and will last for 20 years. The centre offers schoolchildren and residents of the village a large and children’s reading room, a modern lecture hall, a computer room, a creative studio, a gallery, and a comfortable food area. Regional Development Manager Tetiana Brazhnyk explains that all the services provided by the existing projects – in-depth study of Ukrainian and foreign languages, mastering digital technologies, etc., and using the library’s collection of new and interesting publications – are provided free of charge at the centre. Preschool children can attend the early development school, and schoolchildren can work in the computer lab. The centre often offers collective screenings of new and interesting films. Therefore, parents and children often spend their free time together in Smart Space. Here, every resident – from the youngest to the oldest – can find an opportunity to read a book or do their favourite thing. The organiser of cultural and leisure activities, Tetiana Marchenko, and computer systems engineer Anton Tsapko, explain that the halls of the cultural and educational centre are always lit as a symbol of knowledge, development and spiritual enrichment.
