Unity of Generations
18.4.2025
On April 17, students of LTSNU joined an important cause – they joined the Lubny city public organization of disabled people “Chornobyl Veterans” to improve the territory on Zazhur-gora, which is in the Mharsky Starostyn district.
It was there, on the Alley of Memory of the Participants in the Elimination of the Consequences of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, that a joint cleaning was carried out on the eve of the 39th anniversary of the Chornobyl tragedy.
Students, shoulder to shoulder with Chornobyl residents, removed last year’s leaves, raked up dry branches, collected garbage – putting in order a place that is a symbol of deep respect and memory of the heroes who gave their health, and often their lives, saving the world from nuclear disaster.
This day became not just a volunteer event, but a sincere and profound manifestation of the connection between generations. Young people, who are just building their future, honor with respect and gratitude the feat of those who, in an extremely difficult time, did not turn away from danger, but with dignity fulfilled their duty to humanity.
Members of the LMGOI “Chornobyl Veterans” sincerely thanked the leadership of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University for the help, support, active participation of students in such initiatives, for the sincere desire of the university community to be there both on weekdays and on memorable days.
Such joint initiatives are not only about caring for cleanliness and order. They are about preserving memory, forming national consciousness, cultivating respect for history and heroism, which even today inspires responsible actions.
Memory is not just a word. It is actions. And today’s example is a vivid confirmation of this.
