Participation in the Round Table

Lecturers of the Department of Political Science and International Relations participated in the round table on the development of a democratic environment in Ukraine and the Presentation of the EDC project.
On April 10, lecturers of the Department of Political Science and International Relations Olena Mezhenska, Viktoria Medvedska, Liudmyla Novoskoltseva and Maryna Rusanova took part in a round table on the development of a democratic environment in Ukraine and the Presentation of the EDC project – Education for Democratic Citizenship. The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine informed that the EDC (Education for Democratic Citizenship) project began on December 1, 2024, which is implemented with the support of the Swedish Institute in partnership with Linnaeus University (Sweden), as well as Ukrainian and Polish partners.
The project is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in accordance with the action plan for the implementation of the Concept of Civic Education in Ukraine (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 07.02.2024 No. 131-24).
The goal of the project is to develop and implement a curriculum on democratic education for key stakeholders, in particular university lecturers, employees of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, activists and community leaders.
The initiative is aimed at developing democratic values and practices in education and society in Ukraine and provides for an 80-hour curriculum: lectures on democracy, practical part and coaching, as well as the development by participants of mini-projects for the integration of democratic principles into the educational process to ensure the sustainable development of democratic practices in society. The project will last two years and will have a long-term impact on civic education in Ukraine.
