Interview with the Head of the University Academic Council Vitalii Kurylo

The online publication Ukrinform interviewed the Head of the Academic Council of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

“Recently, at least three books on the history of the Luhansk region have been published ‘in exile’. True, historians with academic degrees are only involved in one: ‘Essays on the History of the Luhansk Region.’ The other two were written by amateurs, but this fact is indicative. The co-author of ‘Essays…’ is Vitalii KURYLO, the head of the Academic Council of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, who was invited to a conversation by the online publication UKRINFORM.

In 2014, the university became the first higher education institution in Ukraine from the occupied territories to leave. So what problems did the university’s leadership face in the first days after the capture of Luhansk, how and where did they manage to find shelter, how is work in exile due to the Russian aggression continuing, and what is the reason for the surge of interest in the history of the Luhansk region, which is manifested in research on this region, in an interview with Ukrinform.”
