Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University: a Place of Support, Unity and Mutual Assistance

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is always open to those who are looking for new opportunities, knowledge and support.

More and more military personnel are coming to LTSNU – some are enrolling for studies, some are seeking information, and some are seeking help. The university has become a center where everyone who has dedicated themselves to the defense of Ukraine can find support and understanding.

Thus, today the university was visited by the chief military expert of the National Medical Chamber of Ukraine, the head of the Union of Veterans of the ATO and Law Enforcement Agencies of Ukraine “Shield of the Fatherland”, a combat officer, Knight of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, a holder of the Order of Merit of the II and III degrees, Colonel Viacheslav Oleksandrovych Vasiliev.

During the constructive meeting with the rector of LTSNU Olena Karaman, Colonel Vasiliev was interested in the activities of the Veteran Development Center, its capabilities and services for veterans, military personnel and their family members. Olena Leonidivna said that the university does not stay aloof from events in the country and actively helps military and civilians. LTSNU has its own volunteer detachment “Owl”, which systematically supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine. University volunteers weave camouflage nets, collect warm clothes, food, necessary means for defenders, organize fundraising for the purchase of important goods for the front and the civilian population. In addition, LTSNU volunteers provide psychological assistance to children and adolescents, actively participate in charity events, because they understand that volunteering is one of the most powerful fronts in the fight for our Victory.

Colonel Viacheslav Vasiliev was impressed by the volume of work done and the future initiatives of the university. He expressed admiration for the unity of the university community and its desire to help those in need. As a sign of support, he offered his help and further cooperation, emphasizing the importance of uniting all citizens in a common cause.

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is proud of its friendship with such true patriots who keep the defense not only on the front line, but also in peaceful life, helping to implement important initiatives.
