Meeting of the Student Group “Foresters and Gardeners of the Future”

At the end of March, the next meeting of the student scientific group “Foresters and Gardeners of the Future” was held at the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology.

During the meeting, Anastasia WEIS, a first-year bachelor’s  student majoring in “Landscaping and Park Management”, presented her own project for the reconstruction of the territory and landscaping of a private estate in the city of Lubny, Poltava region. In her study, she proposed the use of modern principles of landscape design adapted to the natural conditions of the Poltava region, with an emphasis on environmental sustainability and biodiversity.

The main elements of the project were: the creation of green areas using highly decorative plant species, the arrangement of a gazebo, the formation of alley plantings and the establishment of environmentally safe recreation areas. Special attention was paid to the implementation of the principles of an environmentally friendly approach to landscaping, which involves minimizing the negative impact on the natural environment and rational use of resources.

The participants of the meeting discussed the presented solutions and highly appreciated their relevance for modern urban planning and landscape design. The department’s lecturers emphasized the importance of such research for the development of horticulture and improvement of approaches to urban greening.

The meeting of the group was held in a constructive atmosphere, inspiring students for further research in the field of ecological landscape design.
