1st International Scientific and Practical Conference “Education in Modern Challenges”

The 1st International Scientific and Practical Conference “Education in Modern Challenges” was held.

On March 27, 2025, the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”, the Research Center for Social Pedagogy and Social Work of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, together with the Lubny City Council, including the Education Department and the Center for Professional Development of Pedagogical Workers, held the 1st International Scientific and Practical Conference “EDUCATION IN MODERN CHALLENGES”.

The conference was held in the assembly hall of the Shemet Brothers Academic Lyceum. The purpose of the conference was to scientifically and practically substantiate the development of science and education in the context of external and internal challenges; discuss trends and prospects for the development of science and education in modern realities; generalize innovative pedagogical experience in the context of implementing the concept of lifelong education.

The moderator of the event, Nataliia Oleksandrivna Ostrovska, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Head of the Social Pedagogy Department of the ER IPP, introduced the presidium:

• Vitalii Kurylo, First Vice-Rector, Chairman of the Academic Council of LTSNU, Academician of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor;
• Olena Karaman, Rector of LTSNU, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor;
• Oleksandr Hrytsaienko, Chairman of the Lubny City Council;
• Myroslav Kostenko, Head of the Education Department of the Executive Committee of the Lubny City Council;
• Nadiia Sichkar, Director of the Center for Professional Development of Pedagogical Workers of the Lubny City Council.

Topics of the conference:

• Modernization of education in Ukraine.
• Modern requirements for preschool education.
• New Ukrainian school: challenges, experience, development prospects.
• Current problems of reforming general secondary education in Ukraine.
• Theory and practice of professional, specialized pre-university and higher education in the context of reforms and challenges.
• Innovations in the field of special and inclusive education.
• Socio-pedagogical and psychological principles of educational activity.

The event was opened by Vitalii Semyonovych Kurylo, who congratulated the participants on the beginning of the conference, emphasized the importance of cooperation with teachers and wished them success, encouraging them to scientific research and discoveries. He also assured that LTSNU will always support their aspirations for development.

Then the floor was given to the mayor Oleksandr HrytsaIenko, who noted the high level of organization of the event and expressed hope for further cooperation of the university with the educational community, which is one of the most powerful in the Poltava region.

The Rector of our university Olena Karaman assured that the conference will have a long life, and cooperation with educators will continue in the future. She thanked the city council for their support, and the teachers for their scientific contribution in the form of articles. At the end of her speech, the rector expressed her wishes for a great victory over the enemy in 2025.

Then, as planned, the Plenary Panel began, the Program of which announced 8 reports. The topics of the reports corresponded to the thematic areas of the conference.

After the end of the Plenary Panel, it was time for celebrations.

Following the conference, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University published the 8th and 9th issues of the scientific and methodological almanac “Cultivating Personality”, the editor-in-chief of which is the chairman of the academic council of LTSNU Vitalii Kurylo. The publication is intended for scientific and pedagogical workers, students, postgraduate students, doctoral students, the public, and all those interested in innovations in the field of education.

All members of the presidium were invited to present the certificates and the scientific and methodological almanac to the authors. The almanac and certificates were personally presented to the mayor, the head of the education department and the director of the Center for Professional Development of Pedagogical Workers by the Rector Olena Karaman and the head of the Academic Council Vitalii Kurylo.

The quartet “Gileia” of the Mykhniv Village Club of the Center for Culture and Leisure of the Lubny City Council congratulated all those present on the significant event with beautiful songs and music.

The event ended with a joint photo of the participants of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Education in Modern Challenges”.
