Virtual Introduction to the Museum of Mathematics “KUBOID”
26.3.2025
The assistant of the Primary Education Department conducted a virtual introduction to the first interactive museum of mathematics in Ukraine “KUBOID” with students.
As part of the educational component “Fundamentals of the Theoretical Course of Mathematics with the Methodology of Teaching the Mathematical Educational Branch,” Kateryna Kovalenko, an assistant professor at the Primary Education Department, conducted a virtual tour of the first interactive mathematics museum in Ukraine, “KUBOID,” with students majoring in “Primary Education.”
KUBOID is a modern educational space created to popularize mathematics through interactive exhibits that allow students to explore mathematical laws in nature, technology, and everyday life. The museum offers educational laboratories, science shows, and classrooms where visitors can experiment and apply mathematical knowledge in practice.
The tour took place through viewing video tours of the museum and discussing its capabilities for teaching primary school students.
During the discussion, the students paid special attention to the “Mathematics and Everyday Life” zone, which demonstrates how mathematical concepts are applied in real life – from video games to weather forecasting. Also of great interest was the “Geometry and Mechanisms” zone, where you can study the principles of transmission mechanisms and explore the relationship between forms and functions. The students noted that such interactive approaches help to form critical thinking and logic in children.
The meeting inspired the students to search for new approaches to teaching mathematics, because it made it clear that the use of interactive exhibits in the educational process can significantly improve the understanding of mathematical concepts and make lessons more exciting and effective.
