Public Discussion of the Educational Programs of the Specialty B1 “Audiovisual Art and Media Production”

On March 25, an open meeting of the Department of Audiovisual Art was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Arts, dedicated to the public discussion of the educational programs of the specialty B1 “Audiovisual Art and Media Production”.

The meeting was chaired by the head of the Department of Audiovisual Art, senior lecturer, Doctor of Philosophy Maksym Saibekov.

During the meeting, the 2025 edition of the educational program “Television Presenter” was considered. The main changes concerned:

  • Taking into account changes to the Higher Education Standard, in particular, the addition of the competences with the item “Ability to make decisions and act, adhering to the principle of inadmissibility of corruption”.
  • Introduction of the mandatory course “Theoretical course on basic general military training”.
  • Adjustment of the list of disciplines, in particular, changing the name “Modern information technologies in audiovisual production” to “Modern information technologies in audiovisual media production” and “History of audiovisual art and production” to: “History of audiovisual art and media production”.
  • Expanding the opportunities for practical training and updating the list of practice bases.

Changes to the master’s program “Director of Audiovisual Works” were also discussed. The main proposals were:

  • Clarification of the specialization and the main focus of the program on training specialists in the field of audiovisual art and media production.
  • Amendments to the list of educational components, in particular the introduction of new disciplines: “Information technologies for working with data in audiovisual art”, “Cinema studies”, “Media production of audiovisual projects”, “Modern trends in media production”, “Scientific and pedagogical practice”, “Methodology of teaching professional disciplines”.
  • Exclusion of some disciplines that have lost their relevance.
  • Amendments to the draft curriculum in accordance with the needs of the labor market and modern requirements of the media industry.

Following the results of the public discussion, project groups were approved to make changes to the educational programs. All suggestions and recommendations will be taken into account when forming the final versions of the programs, which will be submitted for approval to the academic council of the institute.

Public discussion has become an important stage in improving educational programs, which will contribute to the training of competitive specialists in the field of audiovisual art and media production.
