“Foreign Policy of Ukraine: Main Challenges and Threats”

Representatives of the Department of Political Science and International Relations took part in a guest lecture “Foreign Policy of Ukraine: Main Challenges and Threats.”

Teachers and students of the Department of Political Science and International Relations of LTSNU were invited to a guest lecture “Foreign Policy of Ukraine: Main Challenges and Threats” at the Rivne State Humanitarian University. The lecture was delivered by Serhii Feduniak, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor of the Department of International Relations and Public Communications of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.

A realistic definition of Ukraine’s foreign policy priorities and ways to achieve them is a necessary condition for a well-founded and persistent promotion and protection of the country’s national interests. Such a definition involves understanding the place of the Ukrainian state in the world, its perception by other states, analysis of current world trends, awareness of challenges and prospects in various areas. Considering that Ukraine has not had clearly articulated priorities of its foreign policy for a long time, except for the course towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration, there was a need for a systematic and comprehensive definition of what are the priorities of Ukraine, which countries or topics are promising for intensifying cooperation, which challenges require due attention from the Ukrainian state and its representatives responsible for the formation and implementation of foreign policy. When determining the priorities of Ukraine’s foreign policy, it is important to understand those global trends, processes and crises that determine the current state of international relations and will influence the formation of Ukraine’s foreign policy course in the medium term.

We are infinitely grateful to the esteemed Serhii Heorhiovych for the relevant, interesting, and meaningful lecture, which was not just informative, but also fascinating. The presented lecture material aroused interest and lively discussion among the applicants.
