Luhansk Region Open Boxing Tournament

The Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Health Care and Sports visited the Luhansk Region Open Boxing Tournament.

On March 15, 2025, the Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Health Care and Sports of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Oleksandr Dubovoi, and the Head of the Luhansk Regional Branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Viktor Ostretsov, visited the Open Boxing Tournament of the Luhansk Region, dedicated to the defenders of Ukraine and the memory of the outstanding coach Vasyl Moroz.

These competitions became an important event in the sports life of the region, uniting young boxers from different parts of the country, including athletes from among internally displaced persons. The tournament was organized by the Boxing Federation of the Luhansk Region “Donbas Boxing”.

The tournament performed several important missions:

1. Honoring the memory of coach Vasyl Moroz, who made a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian boxing;
2. Commemorating the feat of the defenders of Ukraine who defend the independence of our state;
3. Creating opportunities for young athletes to test their strength in competitions, improve their skills and gain valuable experience;
4. Supporting young people affected by the war and promoting their social adaptation through sports.

The tournament visitors noted the high level of organization, and the participants demonstrated a strong will to win, endurance and skill. Speaking to the audience, Oleksandr Dubovoi and Viktor Ostretsov emphasized the importance of developing sports even in difficult times, as it is an integral part of national resilience and recovery.

Sport is not only a competition, but also a means of building character, faith in one’s own strength and uniting the nation. Together we bring victory closer on all fronts!
