Meeting with the Military

On March 18, an important meeting with the military took place at the Veteran Development Center, established on the basis of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The purpose of the event was to familiarize veterans with the capabilities of the Center, which works to support military personnel, their families, and all those who need help in returning to civilian life.

The meeting was opened by the Rector of the University, Olena KARAMAN, who welcomed all those present and emphasized that the Veteran Development Center is designed to promote social adaptation, psychological rehabilitation, and professional development of veterans. She emphasized the main areas of the Center’s activities:

1. Professional orientation, training, retraining, and advanced training of war veterans and their family members.
2. Social support and support for war veterans.
3. Psychological assistance to veterans and their families.
4. Physical education and health activities.

The rector also spoke about the sensory room – a specially equipped location for children of veterans, where they can receive psychological support in comfortable conditions.

Olena Karaman emphasized the importance of training and advanced training of veterans at the university, emphasizing the availability of benefits and constant support from specialists for military personnel and their families.

During the event, the Rector of LTSNU Olena Leonidivna presented the team of specialists of the Center who provide qualified assistance:

Oleksandr Dubovoi – director of the ER IHCS, master of sports of Ukraine of international class, world champion in powerlifting, world record holder, who is engaged in physical culture and health activities with veterans and their family members.

Tetiana Fedotova – assistant professor of the Psychology Department of the ER IPP, highly qualified psychologist of the charitable organization SOS “Children’s Villages”, which provides consultations, psychological support, and conducts trainings aimed at overcoming post-traumatic consequences.

Anton Nazmiiev – Assistant Professor of the Department of Psychology, ER IPP, Doctor of Philosophy, Head of the Center for Psychological Recovery and Adaptation, Psychologist of the SOS “Children’s Villages”, which also provides psychological support.

A special part of the event was the training “Psychological Support for Veterans of Ukraine, as well as Members of Their Families”, conducted by psychologist Tetiana Fedotova. During the training, veterans received useful advice on overcoming stress, adapting to peaceful life and psychological resilience. Participants actively communicated, shared their experiences and received effective practical recommendations.

Upon completion of the training, all veterans received participant certificates confirming their participation in the event.

The Center for Veteran Development of LTSNU continues to work actively, providing qualified social, psychological and professional support to military personnel and their families. This is a place where every veteran can find everything they need for new achievements and life achievements.
