Training “Providing Psychological First Aid”

On March 18, a training for students and social sector practitioners “Providing Psychological First Aid” was held.

The event was organized by the Social Pedagogy Department of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University in partnership with the Caritas Lubny Charitable Foundation.

The trainers of the event were social work specialists from the Caritas Lubny Charitable Foundation Polina MAMETIEVA and Andrii TERETS.

The participants of the training, in addition to students majoring in “Social Work. Social Pedagogy. Practical Psychology”, were practical psychologists, social teachers of secondary education institutions and representatives of public organizations in the city of Lubny and the region.

The event was held in a face-to-face format, which made it possible not only to learn the material, but also to establish professional contacts in the field of social work.

During the training, participants had the opportunity to master practical skills in providing psychological first aid in crisis situations, analyze real cases, practice an algorithm of actions and interactive exercises that contribute to the development of empathy and communication skills.

The trainers paid special attention to methods of stabilizing the emotional state of victims, active listening and support techniques. Participants also had the opportunity to receive professional advice from experienced specialists and exchange experiences with colleagues.

At the end of the training, all participants received certificates confirming the competencies they had acquired and their readiness to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in their professional activities.
