“The Experience of Land Consolidation in the Netherlands and the Province of Zeeland”

Students of the Department of Chemistry, Geography and Earth Sciences listened to a guest lecture “The Experience of Land Consolidation in the Netherlands and the Province of Zeeland”.

On March 13, students of the A4 “Secondary Education (Geography)” and E4 “Earth Sciences” specialties of the Department of Chemistry, Geography and Earth Sciences of the Educational and Research Institute of Natural and Agrarian Sciences had the opportunity to join a guest lecture on the topic “Experience of Land Consolidation in the Netherlands and the Province of Zeeland”. The lecture was given by Jan Spijkerboer, Senior Advisor for Territorial Development and Real Estate Management in the Kadaster Netherlands.

The lecture covered topical issues, including:

  • How are land consolidation projects implemented in the Netherlands and what methods are used to overcome land fragmentation?
  • What challenges arise in the process of implementing such projects and what lessons can be learned for application in Ukraine?
  • How are land banking strategies implemented in the Province of Zeeland and what results does it bring?

The speaker also shared practical cases, spoke in detail about the successful experience of the Netherlands in the field of territorial management, and also expressed his recommendations on the possibilities of adapting these approaches to Ukrainian realities.

Students actively participated in the discussion, asked numerous questions about project financing mechanisms, legal aspects of land consolidation, as well as the possibility of applying innovative technologies in cadastral matters.

We sincerely thank Mr. Jan Spijkerboer for a meaningful and inspiring lecture that opened up new horizons of knowledge and stimulated further discussion of the topic! We hope for continued cooperation and look forward to new meetings!
