“Shevchenko lives in each of us”: an event dedicated to the 211th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko’s birth.
Taras Shevchenko is not just a poet, artist or public figure. He is a symbol of Ukraine, its soul, its indomitable spirit. His work, full of pain and love, anger and hope, is deeply rooted in Ukrainian culture, permeating every generation.
On 11 March, the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism hosted the event «Shevchenko Lives in Each of Us» dedicated to the 211th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko’s birth. The Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism Viktoria Dmytrenko addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.
The event was attended by the participants of the All-Ukrainian student linguistic and literary contest «Shevchenkova Krynytsia» from all over Ukraine. The competition received 153 entries from students of general secondary and vocational higher education institutions in various nominations. The entries demonstrated a high level of training, significant creative potential, awareness of national dignity, and understanding of the role of Taras Shevchenko’s legacy in the life of every Ukrainian.
The Grand Prix of the competition was awarded to the work «Traces of Talented Ukrainians cannot be trampled by a horde» by Maksym Berkovskyi.
The jury selected the winners in the competition’s nominations.
