Competition for knowledge of US history and culture

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University continues activities devoted to the Year of English Language in Ukraine.

On May 12, 2016 the competition on knowledge of US history and culture was held in the Information and Resource Center “Window on America” ​​with the support of the United States Embassy in Ukraine and the Department of International and Educational work of LNU.

Students of the University and the Starobilsk Humanitarian Pedagogical College of LTSNU as well as schoolchildren and city residents competed for prizes.

The competition consisted of four stages. In the first stage, participants answered questions on historical facts relating to the United States of America. At the second stage was listening: the participants had to collect the words of a famous American song.

Two final stages determined the winners. They are:
1st place – Mykola Lyubymov, the pupil of the 7th form;
2nd place – Olesandr, the employee of the Gorky library;
3rd place – Valeria Kudryavtseva, the student of the Starobilsk Humanitarian Pedagogical College of LTSNU.
