International Mother Language Day at the Starobilsk Professional College

The Starobilsk Professional College of LTSNU celebrated the International Mother Language Day.

Language is the tool that unites a nation, a people into a single whole. It is a great treasure that must be respected, protected and wisely enriched. On February 21, the whole world celebrates an important holiday – International Mother Language Day. This holiday not only reminds of the cultural diversity and multilingualism of the world, but also of the right of everyone to speak their native language in their country.

On February 21, all students and teachers of the Starobilsk Professional College gathered for this holiday. The participants of the event told about the history of the establishment of the holiday, about the importance of language for every people, every nation. But, first of all, it was a day of honoring the native language.

The event featured statements by Ukrainian artists and scientists about the Ukrainian language, poems, and songs. College students became participants in the quiz “Interesting Facts About Language”, where they jointly solved questions about how to care for the purity and beauty of their native language. It was interesting and informative!

On this day, students also attended the event “Language Unites Hearts”, organized by the Taras Shevchenko Luhansk National University. The students learned a lot of new and interesting things.

And most importantly, our language is the most beautiful of all the languages of the world. May it always sound on the lips of Ukrainians! Let us protect, appreciate and study our native language!
