“Unforgettable Names of Myrhorod Region”

On February 14, students and teachers of the Brianka Professional College attended the thematic event “Unforgettable Names of Myrhorod Region”.
The event was held by the staff of the Opanas Slastion Museum of Local Lore. Students had the opportunity to get acquainted with an interesting figure of a Ukrainian, a patriot, who, although he lived abroad, worked for Ukraine.
Pavlo Maliar (Myrgorodsky) is a Ukrainian writer, journalist, teacher and political figure who was born in the city of Myrhorod, and lived and worked all over the world in Ukrainian schools and universities, was an active participant in Ukrainian public organizations.
From the story of the museum director and the memoirs of Volodymyr Dzhun, visitors to the event learned about the life and creative path of Pavlo Maliar, about his family and their difficult fate of survival during the Soviet period.
Such interesting events of the museum give young people the opportunity to get to know the history of the Myrhorod region and interesting figures of culture and art whose fate is connected with the Poltava region.
