Strategic Session

Recently, teachers and students of the Institute of Social  and Humanitarian Sciences participated in a strategic session, where networking and interaction points between authorities and public representatives from the Luhansk and Donetsk regions were developed.

One of the facilitators of the meeting was Kateryna Kotelenets, PhD in Social Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology, who introduced exercises that facilitated the establishment of horizontal cooperation. Together with Svitlana Krot, she helped establish dialogue and interaction between representatives of the authorities and the public, which is necessary for their involvement in the processes of institutional renewal, the formation of a network of active communities and the strengthening of their influence on decision-making processes and the formation of a vision of the future of Eastern Ukraine at the state level.

The meeting was of a research nature, where various brainstorming methods were applied, as well as methods for the formation of soft skills, which is important for the further professional growth of both teachers and students.

One of the participants of the event, Yevheniia Shevtsova, assistant professor of the Department of History and Archaeology, noted: “The event is important for further cooperation between the public sector, the authorities and scientific and educational institutions in the direction of further work in the deoccupied territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.”

The organizer of the meeting was Tetiana Kirillova, head of the Public Organization “Public Initiative of Luhansk Region”, which is a long-standing partner of the Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences.

The event resulted in a developed bank of problems, areas of further work and cooperation, the development of which will lay a reliable foundation for institutional and functional restoration after the deoccupation of the territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

The event was organized by the NGO “Public Initiative of Luhansk Region” within the framework of the project “Involving the Public of Eastern Ukraine in the Restoration of Their Communities: Phase II”, which is supported by the Renaissance Foundation. The project is implemented by the NGO “Public Initiative of Luhansk Oblast” in cooperation with the NGO “Association for Promoting Self-Organization of the Population”, the NGO “Center for Political and Legal Reforms” and the NGO “Association “Renaissance and Development”.
