Participation in the round table

On May 6, a round table devoted to the 40th anniversary of the Ukrainian Public Group to Promote the Implementation of the Helsinki Accords was held.
Students of Starobilsk Humanitarian Pedagogical College of LTSNU participated in the round table on the theme “40th anniversary of the Ukrainian Public Group to Promote the Implementation of the Helsinki Accords.” The event was organized with the assistance of the head of the History of Ukraine Department, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor N.T. Vyhvatenko.
The guest lecturer, head of the human rights organization “Victoria” V.A. Flyat delivered a welcoming speech and meaningful information about the history of the Helsinki Group in Europe and in Ukraine, its founders, purposes and features of the activities. She said that the UPG – an association of leaders of the Ukrainian human rights movement, formed in 1976. The main purpose of the organization is to promote Ukrainian public awareness of the Declaration of Human Rights and the fight against infringements of it.
During the conversation, the lecturer noted that students were well oriented in the protection of human rights, knew the basic rights and duties of a citizen of Ukraine, and showed a deep interest in the problems of modern society.
