Career Guidance Work Continues in Lviv Region

A career guidance work was conducted in Lviv Region by a representative of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism.

During February 4 and 5, 2025, the representative of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Ukrainian Language Department, Oksana Kleshchova, held career guidance meetings with the 9–11th grade pupils of the Boryslav General Secondary Education Institution of I-III Degrees No. 4 named after Stefan Kovaliv and the Boryslav General Secondary Education Institution of I-III Degrees No. 3 of the Boryslav City Council, Drohobych District, Lviv Region.

During the career guidance meetings, potential applicants got acquainted with the university, its almost 104-year history. After watching the presentation video, they learned about famous graduates (scientists, teachers, journalists, TV presenters, poets, writers, athletes) and teachers of our university, about 10 educational and research institutes and 6 professional colleges, other structural divisions, as well as about the specialties that can be obtained at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The students were also shown a multimedia presentation about the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism of LTSNU. From the presentation, the pupils had the opportunity to learn about 5 powerful departments of Institute of Philology and Journalism and their teaching staff: the Ukrainian Language Department; the Department of Literary Studies, Oriental Philology and Translation; the Journalism Department, the Department of Foreign Languages ​​for Professional Purposes, and the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology.

Additionally, the pupils got information about the scientific and educational activities of the university and institute, for example, the annual holding of the all-Ukrainian scientific and practical conferences “The Figurative Word of Luhansk” and “Slobozhanska Beseda”, about the work of the scientific circle “Linguistics of Modern Song Text” (Ukrainian Language Department).
