3.2.2025
The monograph “Invertebrates of the Luhansk Nature Reserve” has been published.
At the end of 2024, the Ukrainian-Polish scientific publishing house “Liha-Press” (Lviv–Torun) published the monograph “Invertebrates of the Luhansk Nature Reserve” (in two languages - Ukrainian and English), which is the result of many years of research into the invertebrate fauna of this unique natural complex. The book describes in detail the diversity of species, their ecological features and significance for the ecosystem of the reserve.
One of the authors of the monograph is Serhii Hlotov – senior lecturer at the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology of LTSNU, member of the Scientific Council of the Luhansk Regional Organization of the All-Ukrainian Ecological League, junior research fellow of the State Museum of Natural History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Luhansk Nature Reserve of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
“The work on this monograph lasted about five years,” Serhii Hlotov, who worked at the Luhansk Nature Reserve of the NAS of Ukraine before the Russian occupation, told the press service of the NAS of Ukraine. “Such a summary of all invertebrates is actually the first for the territory of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine. And one of the few, as well as one of the most complete for the reserves of the entire Eurasian continent.”
This publication will become an important source of information for scientists, ecologists and everyone interested in the biodiversity of Ukraine, because the study and preservation of the biodiversity of natural ecosystems is a priority task of the objects of the nature reserve fund of our state.
