Kruty Heroes Remembrance Day

The Starobilsk Professional College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University held educational events dedicated to the Kruty Heroes Remembrance Day. 

Participants in thematic events discussed the significance of the feat of the Kruty heroes, their courage and self-sacrifice, which became a symbol of the struggle for the freedom of Ukraine.

Students had the opportunity to learn about the events that took place on January 29, 1918, when young Ukrainians stood up to defend their Motherland during the struggle for independence. “Kruty: They Died for Ukraine” – this was the title of educational classes at the Starobilsk Professional College in all academic groups.

The story of the Kruty Heroes is not just an episode from the past. It is an example that inspires new generations of Ukrainians. They were very young – many were only 16–18 years old, but their courage, integrity and devotion became a lesson in courage for us. Let us remember that independence and freedom are not a gift, but the result of the sacrificial struggle of many generations. The memory of the Kruty  Heroes calls us to appreciate what we have and to be ready to defend it from the enemy.
