Participation in the Championship of Ukraine

Professor of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports participated in the Championship of Ukraine on basketball among veterans 55+.

The Championship took place in Zhytomyr, and lasted for several days (from April 20 to 24). Head of the Department of Sports Disciplines of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of LTSNU Yuri Podkolzin took part in the competitions. Yuri Oleksandrovych is an athlete who has a great basketball experience – 48 years. Head of the Department is still in excellent shape and an example for his students.

Championship organization meets a high level, because the owners have practical experience of this level of the competition, including: All-Ukrainian Sports Festival and International tournaments.

Thanks to the initiative of the basketball club of veterans “Tonus” the interest in basketball increases in Zhytomyr. It increases the number of children’s basketball teams.

The championship was held in a friendly atmosphere with the enthusiastic support of the fans. In the finals, five men’s teams were presented. Despite the long-standing friendly relations of players of different teams, the game brought a lot of uncompromising struggle and unexpected surprises. Each game was crucial to the final result of the allocation in the standings. Passions were running high, and they added energy to each player. Game results indicate a high level of professional teams, and the difference emphasizes the advantage of the moral and emotional mood.

The team of Yuri Podkolzin became the champion of Ukraine in the intense fight.
