Information Hours Dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day
27.1.2025
The information hours dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day were held at the Brianka Professional College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
January 27th was not a coincidence that it became a memorable date: it was on this day in 1945 that the prisoners of the Auschwitz concentration camp were liberated.
During the information hour, the students recalled what the Holocaust was and how it became possible. Anti-Semitism was discussed as an ideology and policy of hostile attitude towards Jews and Roma, which was professed and applied by the German Nazis in 1933-1940. Photo and documentary evidence of the Holocaust in Ukraine, the tragedy of Babyn Yar, the Syretsk concentration camp, when about 1.5 million Jews, more than 4 million Ukrainians, Roma and representatives of other nationalities died on Ukrainian lands from 1941 to 1945, were also considered.
The participants in the educational process honored the victims of the Holocaust and left their memory in their hearts.
