Defense of Master’s Theses of Artists

The Department of Fine and Decorative Arts hosted the defense of master’s theses.

On January 22, the Department of Fine and Decorative Arts held the theses defense of master’s students at the Mykola Yaroshenko Poltava Art Gallery. Master’s students of the educational programs “Fine Arts” and “Decorative and Applied Arts” presented such works as artistic ceramics, impressionistic and surrealist painting, paintings on the theme of war and the loss of their native home, and illustrations inspired by Japanese art.

Future artists defended two works: a scientific work in the field of art and a creative work, that is, an author’s work (a painting and a decorative work in the material).

The examination commission was chaired by Olga Kurchakova, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine and Director of the Mykola Yaroshenko Poltava Art Museum (Art Gallery). The commission also included Natalia Dihtiar (Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Acting Head of the Department of Fine and Decorative and Applied Arts), Artur Aroian (Candidate of Architecture, Associate Professor, member of the National Union of Photographic Artists of Ukraine), Inna Hurzhii (Senior Lecturer of the Department, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine) and Iryna Prodan (Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Director of the Institute of Arts, Associate Professor).

Many graduates, such as Iryna Khudoleieva, Nataliia Kulichenko and Kostintyn Lopushynskyi, worked in extremely difficult conditions, being in front-line cities, but despite everything, their works radiate light and hope for victory. The commission and other teachers also highlighted the surrealist panel by Bohdan Tymo and the graphic diptych on a Japanese theme by Oleksii Korshunov.

We wish you sincere encouragement in your further creative achievements!
