The binary lesson
6.5.2016
On May 5, 2016 the first-year students of Starobilsk Humanitarian Pedagogical College and the College of LNU participated in the event dedicated to the Day of Victory over Nazism.
It was a binary lesson on the history of Ukraine and the Ukrainian language, which was held in the form of writing a dictation with comments. The dictation was dedicated to the tragic fate of women during the war. The purpose of this event was to broaden students’ knowledge and compilation of information about the heroes of the Second World War, in particular, Ukrainian women; the formation of patriotism and pride in compatriots, who during the severe trials for the country did not go away, and on a par with men protected their people from the Nazi occupiers.
The initiators of this event, teachers of Ukrainian language and history of Ukraine N.V. Klimenko and E.S. Kovpak noted that such forms of studies would awake the desire to study the history of their country, its language, culture, and preserve its traditions, think about the country’s future, to educate the students respect for the heroic deeds of their compatriots.
Before writing a work, students watched a thematic presentation with a brief commentary and were acquainted with the text dictation. They wrote the work according to the product of Oleksandr Dovzhenko “Ukraine in the Fire”.
