Artistic Dialogues at the Design Department

On January 15, “Museum Selfie Day”, the Design Department held its traditional meetings in the format of “Artistic Dialogues”.

The department staff visited the Vasyl Krychevsky Poltava Regional Museum of Local Lore, where newly acquired sketches of the famous artist, painter, architect, designer, ethnographer and museum curator Opanas Slaston were exhibited for the first time. The exhibition is dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the artist and consists of works donated to the museum by the famous and respected art critic, researcher of Opanas Heorhiyovych’s work – Vitalii Hanko. The teachers of the Design Department discussed how important it is for today’s future designers to adopt the experience of Opanas Slaston and the ability to sketch pre-project ideas.

The next location was the Mykola Yaroshenko Poltava Art Museum (Art Gallery), where the Design Department staff visited art exhibitions, in particular a large-scale exhibition of the couple Oksana and Oleksii Ivaniuk. The fruitfulness of these artists, the expression of their works caused a discussion among fellow teachers about the role of painting techniques, composition schools, and correctly selected colors in creating works of art. Not all works can be called perfect from the point of view of a designer-artist, but students should learn a lot from such artists.

“Museum Selfie Day” in the “Art Dialogues” format was interesting and fulfilling, we hope it added inspiration to all those who connect their lives with art.
