Meeting of the Academic Council of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism

On 8 January, a meeting of the Academic Council of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism was held.

One of the issues on the agenda was «On compliance with the regulatory framework for the prevention of corruption and academic integrity».

In her speech on this issue, the Director of the Institute Viktoriia Dmytrenko reminded the audience of the need for teachers and students to adhere to the principles of academic integrity in the educational process and scientific activities, which are prescribed in the Regulations on Academic Integrity of Participants in the Educational Process of the State Institution «Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University» and the Anti-Corruption Programme of the State Institution «Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University» for 2024-2025.

During the discussion, special attention was paid to the issues of compliance with generally accepted ethical norms, Ukrainian copyright law, falsification of research results, academic plagiarism, etc. It was decided to inform the teachers and students of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism about the responsibility for violating the principles of academic integrity and corruption offences, and the Roadmap for checking for plagiarism of qualification (master’s) theses was adopted.

The members of the Academic Council of the Institute identified the priority tasks for the first half of 2025, including career guidance, the work of academic group editors, and events dedicated to the 211th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko’s birth.
