A meeting of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology was held with the pre-defense of qualification theses of master’s students majoring in Sociology of the Border Region and National Security.
On December 30, a meeting of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology was held with the pre-defense of the qualification theses of the second (master’s) level applicants of the educational program “Sociology of the Border Region and National Security”.
The pre-defense of the works of the applicants is an important stage in preparation for the final defense. This is the second meeting to discuss the qualification theses. The first took place on December 12, 2024, when the department heard the applicants to decide on admission to the defense.
Now, at the second meeting, the master’s students and their academic supervisors reported on the status of preparation for the defense and presented presentations of their works, which they plan to defend on January 17, 2025 before the commission. The preliminary presentation of the results of the master’s research and the discussion at the pre-defense allowed us to understand the weaknesses in the presentations, receive recommendations from the scientific supervisors and members of the department on how to improve the structure and content of the presentation, and gain confidence during the defense of the qualification work.
After the pre-defense of the qualification works of the second (master’s) level applicants of the educational program “Sociology of the Border Region and National Security”, the issue “Analysis of the results of monitoring the quality of the educational program among stakeholders, conducted by the Department of Quality Management of Educational Activities” was considered at the meeting of the department.
Monitoring the quality of the educational program was conducted by the Department of Quality Management of Educational Activities from December 16 to 27, 2024. in the form of a survey of students, graduates and employers in order to obtain reliable and authentic information on assessing the quality of educational programs of the second (master’s) level of higher education, identifying conflict situations, bullying, cases of sexual harassment and bribery. The EP Guarantor reported that the activity of stakeholders was at a high level, and all comments and recommendations received were recorded and will be analyzed in detail by the project group during the EP self-analysis after the EP public discussion in February 2025.
