Participation in the Online Workshop

Teachers took part in the online workshop “Gemini Opportunities for Higher Education” by Google for Education.
On 23 December, Associate Professor of the Department of Literary Studies, Oriental Philology and Translation Iryna Boitsun and Lecturer of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology Yevhen Kharkivskyi took part in the online workshop «Gemini Opportunities for Higher Education» by Google for Education, organised with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The event was attended by about 240 teachers from Ukrainian higher education institutions. Speakers at the workshop included Pavel Chervonyi, Director of Google for Education in Central and Eastern Europe; Victoria Leshchenko, Google for Education Programme Coordinator in Ukraine; Liudmyla Kukhar, Associate Professor at the Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian State University, expert at the Ukrainian Centre for Educational Quality Assessment; and Mykola Popadiuk, certified Google for Education trainer. Director of Educational Programmes, Youth Delegate of Ukraine to the United Nations 2023-2024; Yaroslav Kvasnytsia, Solution Engineer, Technical Specialist at Google Workspace and GitLab.
During the event, certified Google trainers and representatives of Ukrainian educational institutions spoke about Gemini’s capabilities for planning the educational process and developing materials; assessing students’ learning achievements with Gemini; using Gemini through Google Workspace for Education services; and provided practical advice and instructions on how to use Gemini in higher education.
The speakers of the event answered questions about compliance with the principles of academic integrity when using Gemini in the educational process in higher education institutions, the preservation of confidential information, the principles of data processing and the creation of tables and diagrams, planning the educational process, etc.
The event was informative and useful. Participants expressed the wish that in the future, thanks to AI tools, in particular Gemini, teachers of higher education institutions will be freed from routine work and will have more time for research.
