An open lecture was held by Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor Olena Oleksandrivna Karolop: “Formation of the Tourist Image and Brand of Countries and Territories.”
On December 17, 2024, an open lecture by Olena Karolop, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Professional Education, Restaurant and Tourism Business, was held. The lecture was held as part of the mandatory component “Organization of Tourism” for 2nd year bachelor’s students, the educational and professional program “Tourism and Recreation”.
At the beginning of the lecture, the lecturer focused on the importance of the educational component “Organization of Tourism” in the structural and logical scheme of training future bachelors in tourism and recreation. She also noted the relevance, goal and objectives of the lecture meeting. The questions presented for review by students and guests corresponded to the working program of the discipline.
During the lecture, issues related to the concept of the tourist image of countries and territories, the tourist brand and logo, as well as the formation and promotion of the tourist image and brand of Ukraine were considered. Each question was supplemented with real cases on the formation and promotion of the tourist image and brand of destinations both in different countries and in Ukraine.
The lecture was held in the form of a dialogue with the audience. The presented topic aroused interest, lively discussion and exchange of views. Students and guests also shared their own experience and knowledge on the outlined issues. The lecturer presented the lecture material in an interesting and modern way, using media and video materials.
During the meeting, the lecturer noted that tourism is one of the most dynamic sectors of the economy, which contributes to the socio-economic development of the country, creates jobs and improves the quality of life of the population. The training of qualified personnel for the post-war period, when Ukraine will be ready to receive numerous tourists, is especially important. The post-war period will open up new opportunities for the development of tourism in Ukraine: the restoration of infrastructure, the creation of new tourist routes and destinations, as well as the formation and promotion of the country’s tourist image at the international level, require highly qualified specialists.
The lecture by Olena Karolop became an important stage in the preparation of future specialists in tourism and recreation, providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills for successful professional activity.
