Preliminary Defense of Qualification Theses for the EP “Geography”

On December 16, the Department of Chemistry, Geography and Earth Sciences held a preliminary defense of master’s theses for the educational and professional program “Geography” (specialty 014.07).

All works were previously successfully checked for uniqueness and academic integrity. Master’s students, using a modern format and design of presentations, presented the results of their research. The issues of qualification works covered a wide range of scientific problems of the theory and practice of geography teaching in secondary education institutions – from the formation of students’ competencies (ecological, creative, and cartographic) to the introduction of innovative and multimedia technologies and scientific and methodological support for teaching individual sections of the geography program.

Teachers had the opportunity to preliminarily assess the originality of the proposed approaches to solving the methodological problem, the presence of elements of scientific novelty, the logic of the presentation of the material, the depth of research, the variety of methods used, the ability to answer questions, etc. In the master’s students’ speeches, the emphasis was placed on the most rational pedagogical technologies, methods and techniques of teaching, the use of advanced domestic and foreign experience.

The master’s students practiced their reports, which will allow them to feel more confident in front of the examination committee, and also received constructive comments and advice from the teachers. The staff of the department congratulates the master’s students on their successful entry into the finish line and wishes them a confident defense!
