Annual Essay Competition

The Oleksandr Tarasenko Essay Competition was held at the Institute of Arts.
On December 13, among the students of the Department of Fine and Decorative and Applied Arts, the winners of the Oleksandr Tarasenko Essay Competition, a fallen soldier and an outstanding Poltava artist, associate professor of the Department of Fine Arts of the Volodymyr Kondratyuk National Institute of Fine Arts, who also worked at the National Institute of Fine Arts, were selected.
The competition is held annually, but it began to bear the name of the warrior only in 2024. Dozens of different works by bachelor’s and master’s students were presented in the competition.
They were evaluated by teachers of the Department of Fine and Decorative and Applied Arts, and gifts were also prepared for the third, second and first places – art supplies for work. The third places were awarded to representatives of the first and fourth year of the bachelor’s degree, the second – to the fourth year of the bachelor’s and master’s degree, and the first place was awarded to a representative of the fourth year, Serhii Cherkasets.
The wife of the late Oleksandr Tarasenko, Valentyna Tarasenko, a teacher at the Poltava Children’s Art School named after Svyatoslav Pashinsky, also had the honor of presenting the prizes.
