On December 12, the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology held a preliminary defense of master’s theses of second-year master’s degree students majoring in Ecology.
This important event is the final stage before submitting the works to the examination committee. The participants had the opportunity to present the results of their research, which they worked on throughout the entire period of study. The topics of the works covered a wide range of environmental issues, such as: analysis of the ecological state of nature reserves; study of the impact of anthropogenic factors on the state of environmental components; hazardous waste management; prospects for the implementation of environmentally safe technologies and other topics.
One of the important aspects of the discussion was the issue of the uniqueness of master’s theses, attention was focused on the need to observe academic integrity. The scientific supervisors and teachers of the department assessed both the scientific novelty and the practical value of the proposed solutions and provided valuable recommendations for improving the works. The defense was held using multimedia materials, which allowed the candidates to demonstrate not only the validity of their research, but also the ability to convincingly present the results.
The quality of the presented master’s theses indicates the high level of training students and the relevance of the selected topics for solving the problems of environmental protection and conservation. The preliminary defense ended with a lively discussion of the presented works, which became a useful experience for the candidates before the main defense. We wish the master’s students success during the final certification!
