Participation in the Forum “Human Capital 2024: Value. Quality. Development”

On December 12, the 5th International Forum “Human Capital 2024: Value. Quality. Development” was held.

For the fifth time, the head of the Department of Professional Education, Restaurant and Tourism Business, Viktor Burdun, took part in the Forum, which was held at the initiative of the National Qualifications Agency with the support of Helvetas.

The event was held within the framework of the agreement between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Czech Republic and Helvetas Ukraine on the implementation of the project “Support for the economic development of internally displaced persons and persons affected by the war in Ukraine” in cooperation with the Czech Development Agency.

The goal of the Forum: to promote the development of the national economy, human capital and the integration of Ukraine into the pan-European qualification space.

The event began with greetings from the forum participants. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, Director General of the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission Mario Nava, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi, Chairman of the Council of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine Dmytro Oliinyk and others delivered welcoming remarks.

The event was moderated by the Head of the National Qualifications Agency, Yurii Balaniuk.

During the introductory session, the speakers spoke about the European integration of the qualifications system. There was also a presentation of Helvetas programs in Ukraine.

The forum was held in three sections:

Session 1. “Qualification centers: opportunities and prospects”

Session 2. “Regulated professions: advantages, caveats, and implementation strategies”

Session 3. “Assignment of professional qualifications by higher education institutions”.

The speakers of the forum were the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Education, Science and Innovation, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Serhii Babak, Director of the European Training Foundation Pilvi Torsti, Head of the State Labor Service of Ukraine Ihor Degnera, Head of the Subcommittee on Higher Education of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Education, Science and Innovation Yulia Hryshyna, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykhailo Vynnytskyi, Head of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education Andrii Butenko and others.

For the first time, qualification centers participated in the forum. Representatives of the centers spoke about the organization of the centers’ work, demonstrated the process of assessing students to the forum participants, and told about the procedure for assigning professional qualifications.

As always, the forum was quite interesting and dynamic.
