On December 10, teachers of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology took part in the webinar “Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Education – Challenges and Opportunities.”
The event brought together about 4,000 educators. The webinar speaker was Rose Luckin, an emeritus professor at University College London (UK), who has been working in the field of artificial intelligence for 30 years. The speaker noted that AI is not a new phenomenon. It has almost a century-old history. Work on its creation began back in the 1920s. Rose Luckin pointed out an important feature of generative artificial intelligence. If earlier AI made decisions according to certain rules, today these rules have become less transparent, which is a challenge for humanity.
The speaker gave a brief overview of the history of the development of artificial intelligence, emphasized the areas of application in education and gave a brief overview of the challenges associated with it. One of the important theses of the speaker was the recommendation to teach students to develop human intelligence with the help of AI, rather than simplifying their lives.
