Career Orientation Conversations

Representatives of three educational and research institutes of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University conducted career orientation conversations.

The Institute of Philology and Journalism, the Institute of Arts, and the Institute of Health Care and Sports visited the lyceums of Verkhniodniprovsk (Kamanskyi district of Dnipropetrovsk region), which belong to the Verkhniodniprovsk territorial community.

In conversations with school children of lyceums No. 1, 2, and 5, the question was raised about which structural divisions unite our university, which educational programs are open to applicants to our educational institution, which specialties are in the greatest demand and why, and how to determine priorities when choosing a profession. The students were interested in the issues of organizing the educational process, the peculiarities of students’ living conditions (accommodation, receiving scholarships, etc.). The listeners were also not indifferent to conversations about the allocation of budget places for various specialties, about students’ leisure. But the graduates paid special attention to the issues of the passing score for various specialties, the peculiarities of studying foreign languages, etc.

Meetings with current lyceum graduates are important for both teachers and students. They help to understand the range of issues that require argumentation and explanation. This is an opportunity to understand how to make the right choice, given the situation in the country and the challenges of the modern educational process.
