Action “16 Days Against Violence”

As part of the international campaign “16 Days Against Violence”, Romance & Germanic Philology Department students actively participated in the specialized English-language course “Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence” of the international platform HELP Programme.

This initiative was aimed at raising awareness of the issues of combating violence and improving the professional competencies provided for in the educational program.

The course materials allowed the students to expand their vocabulary on human rights, gender equality, and countering violence. The course also provided an opportunity to get acquainted with international approaches to addressing violence, contributing to their understanding of cultural differences in human rights practices.

Participants completed tasks related to analyzing real cases and developed proposals for addressing violence in different social and cultural contexts. Students mastered tools to raise awareness in society about human rights and everyone’s responsibility in the fight against violence.

The project has become an important step in the formation of professionals who can

– communicate effectively in English on socially important topics;

– be active participants in social transformations;

– apply the acquired knowledge in their professional translation, teaching, or intercultural communication activities.

The Romance and Germanic Philology Department applicants have shown high responsibility, openness to new knowledge, and willingness to contribute to building a safe and tolerant society.

The course has become a part of the educational process and a significant stage in students’ personal and professional development.
