Participation in the International Human Rights Conference

Students of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology participated in the International Human Rights Conference “Decade 2014-2024. Reclaiming Human Rights. Preserving Democracy.”
On December 4-6, 2024, in Kyiv, at the initiative of the Ombudsman of Ukraine and the Charitable Foundation “United Country of Free People”, an International Human Rights Conference was held, in which students majoring in 231 “Social Work”, the educational program “Social Work. Social Pedagogy. Practical Psychology” Kateryna KUPINA and Yulia POZHYDAIEVA took part.
Our students won the essay competition among higher education students on the topic: “Ombudsman of Ukraine: Protection of Human Rights during War” and received the opportunity to become participants in the forum.
More than a thousand representatives of the authorities, international organizations from around the world, human rights activists, journalists and representatives of civil society joined the conference. Also the Ombudsmen of Moldova, the President of the National Coordination of Italian Ombudsmen, representatives of Estonia and a number of other countries came.
The solemn opening of the event began with a speech by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
The conference became a unique platform for exchanging experience, generating new ideas and forming partnerships between representatives of the academic community, the public and human rights institutions. And the graduates of our university received valuable experience and inspiration for further professional development and participation in initiatives aimed at ensuring human rights and freedoms in Ukraine.
