International Volunteer Day

December 5th is International Volunteer Day.

The full-scale war in Ukraine has exacerbated many social problems and forced millions of people to find themselves in difficult life circumstances. The volunteer movement has become one of the most important tools for supporting the army, displaced persons, affected citizens, and humanitarian aid.

On the eve of International Volunteer Day, which is celebrated on December 5, students majoring in 231 “Social Work” under the educational program “Social Work. Social Pedagogy. Practical Psychology” successfully completed online courses on the basics of volunteer activity and received certificates.

The participants gained knowledge about volunteering and its areas; learned how humanitarian aid works and what is needed to protect themselves in threatening situations; learned how to motivate themselves and their team, prevent emotional burnout; create their own projects and help effectively.

For students, this course was a great opportunity to integrate the knowledge gained into their future professional activities, inspiring them to implement their own volunteer initiatives aimed at helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine, supporting displaced persons, and overcoming the consequences of war.

We are proud of the achievements of our students, which are an example of how the educational process becomes a platform for changes in society. Together, we bring victory closer and build a society that is ready to support each other in difficult times.

Happy Volunteer Day! Your support and good deeds make the world a better place!
