Volunteer Project “Red Ribbon”
5.12.2024
Students were recommended to independently learn the information materials about the harmfulness of drugs (at the link: URL: http://surl.li/hxwald), the catastrophic increase in HIV/AIDS among adolescents and young people, which is associated with an unhealthy lifestyle (alcohol, drug use, smoking, unsafe sex) and which poses a serious threat to their general, sexual and reproductive health.
Today, the issues of sexual education remain acute in the world. The results of the monitoring have proven that adolescents are interested in the topics of using contraceptives and methods of contraception, sexual relations, and early pregnancy. Therefore, information on contraception, hygiene and physiology of adolescent children is relevant for Ukrainian society, since such knowledge concerns the health and well-being of the nation.
Within the project “Red Ribbon” the college students held explanatory talks, informed the youth and the population about the problems of people living with HIV/AIDS, talked about the importance of getting rid of drug and alcohol addiction. The students attached red ribbons to their clothes, their children, relatives, friends, acquaintances as a symbol of sympathy, support for infected people, combating discrimination and social isolation of people living with HIV/AIDS, and hope for a future life without AIDS.
